Elizabeth "Betty" Melillo passed away peacefully on Feb 5th, 2025 in Watchung, N.J. Romantic to the end, her passing comes just a few weeks after that of her husband.

After graduating St James High School at the top of her class, Betty started her career at J. Wiss & Sons Co as a secretary where she met her husband of 64 years, Salvatore Melillo. Clever and detail oriented, Betty worked as an Executive Secretary at AT&T for most of her career. Her favorite job was being a proofreader for the Official Catholic Directory, which she enjoyed for many years until her retirement in 2018. Born in Newark, Betty raised her family in Scotch Plains before moving to Millington, NJ.

Betty was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish for over 30 years. She traveled around the word many times with her husband Sal; sampling a cup of tea in every country! In addition to traveling, her passions were manicures, yoga and mahjong.

Betty is survived by her; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Craig and Lucia Melillo; Daughter, Elaine Melillo Lehnert; Granddaughters, Nicole Melillo, Danielle Melillo, Rachel Lehnert and Emma Lehnert; Sister and Brother-in-Law Mary and Virgil DeOliveira; and Brother and Sister-in-Law Frank and Linda Arpaio.

Private Services were held on Saturday, February 8th where she will rest at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ.
