John Buniewicz, 85, a long time Irvington resident, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He had resided in the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home for the past 2 years. John had proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Buniewicz was employed by the American Can Company for 37 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the United Steelworkers, Local # 814. When John was not working, he enjoyed time relaxing and fishing.

Mr. Buniewicz was the husband of the late Stefania (nee Cyckowski) Buniewicz who passed away in 2014; father of Eileen (Andrew) Hosonitz, Tina Grif, John D. (Valerie) Buniewicz and Lana Buniewicz; brother of Luba Lukasewicz, Olga Kaminsky, the late Ann Catena, and the late Alex Buniewicz; grandfather of Ashley Gatti, Mark Grif, and Savannah Grif; and great-grandfather of Bruce Gatti and Paul Gatti.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. concluding with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Dr. Rev. Thomas Sigley from the Ron Mowad Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2800 Morris Avenue (located in the Galante Funeral Home), Union, N.J. (908-687-1182)
