Obituary for Dorothy A. Leary (Heys)
Dorothy A. (nee Heys) Leary of Budd Lake, N.J. passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 80.
Dorothy was born and raised in Newark N.J. to William & Louise (nee Peter) Heys on March 31, 1940. Dorothy had lived in Newark, then Irvington before moving to Budd Lake.
Dorothy was a Legal Secretary with the Skoloff and Wolfe Law Firm of Livingston N.J. where she retired from in 2010
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence E. Leary; devoted mother of Donna Steinmetz & her husband Carl, Lori Tambakis & her husband Nick, and Michael Leary & his wife Joi; dear sister of Arthur Peter, the late Lois Lee, the late Wilma Holder, and the late William Hayes; cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Alyssa and Jaden.
Dorothy adored her family and enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren. She loved laughing and making people happy. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed bowling and shared a passion for Atlantic City trips with her sister Lois.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the visitation at the Ron Mowad Funeral Home & Cremation Service (908-687-1182), 2800 Morris Ave, Union, (located in the Galante Funeral Home building), on Tuesday, July 21st from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. A service will be held at 2:30 pm. Cremation will be private.
