Obituary for Jean T. Cornell (Gerweck)
Jean T. Cornell of Union, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born in Irvington, N.J. to August and Pauline (nee Stock) Gerweck on March 23, 1929.
Jean had lived in Irvington and Newark prior to moving to moving to Union 35 years ago. She was the banquet manager at the Town & Campus in Union for several years, a waitress at the Essex House in West Orange and the Galloping Hill Inn in Union. Jean was also a customer service representative for Dunn & Bradstreet. Jean was a member the Monday Morning Seniors Club at the Union Senior Citizens Center.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Lloyd C. Cornell; siblings Clifford Gerweck, William Gerweck, Edward Gerwick, and Ruth Ruppel. She is survived by her daughter Carol Cornell (Noland Purefoy).
Private graveside services were held in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Arrangement are under the care and direction of Ron Mowad Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J.
