Gloria K. (nee DeMicco) Pasquale of Short Hills NJ, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday evening, September 24, 2018 with her family around her. She was 93.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 4th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm at the Ron Mowad Funeral & Cremation Service (located in the Galante Funeral Home), 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ (908-687-1182). The funeral will be held on Friday, October 5th from the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield. Gloria was born in Elizabeth, NJ. on November 11, 1924 to Pasquale and Lucia (nee Palmona) DeMicco. She was a resident of Short Hills for 60 years. Gloria was President of her Battin High School Class of 1942. She received a B.A. in math from Montclair State College in 1945 and a Masters Degree in Special Education in 1967 from Newark State Teachers College. Gloria received the Edward F. Kappy Memorial Award as Teacher of the Year in 1993. Well-loved by students and administrators, Gloria retired at the age of 83 having served the Elizabeth School District for 52 years.

She married her high school sweetheart Carl J. Pasquale (1923 - 2015) in 1945. As a mother of nine, Gloria was the heart of her family, assisting with school projects and organizing countless family gatherings and holiday parties. Gloria enjoyed monthly get-togethers for over 50 years with "The Club" - a group of 7 fraternity couples. She was an active tennis player arranging 5:00 a.m. Early Bird Tennis games.

Gloria was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Rose of Lima. She was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Lifelighters.

Gloria is the mother of Carol (Roman) Wojenski, Ann (Dennis) Edie, Anthony, Rosalie, Elizabeth, John (Patricia), Thomas (Julie), James, and the late Dr. Michael (Eileen) Pasquale. She is also survived by her sister Connie DeRose, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
